Camilla (age 7) was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia on April 1, 2019. Upon initial diagnosis, she spent 5 ½ months inpa-tient at Wolfson Children’s Hospital while un-dergoing 4 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy. During her treatment, she developed an infection in her forearm that had to be removed and required a wound vacuum and weekly surgery for a few weeks. Camilla went into remission, but, sadly, relapsed in January of 2021. Chemo treatments have been particularly toxic to Camilla. She has had multiple surgeries, multiple bone marrow transplants and a feeding tube. Camilla underwent a craniotomy in early June of 2022. Because of her surgeries and chemo, Camilla is working hard to regain her strength and learn to walk again. Seeing her joy at the Ja-Ru Dream Day was a beautiful sight! Camilla is still Dreaming and until she receives clear-ance to travel, DCT is providing her with lots of Special Times experiences, of which the Ja-Ru Dream Day was one!
